Second THOUGHTS on the US MINT SPOUSES

1) they are almost a 1/2 ounce of gold

2) they are available

3) they are not real popular

4) you can get them slabbed or buy them that way

5) the boxes they come in MINT PACKAGING are rather attractive

6) to me they are a real sleeper PERHAPS

7) remember that SHADOWSTATS.COM just refigured the gold price to emulate 1980 when it hit $877.50 for the MOMENT high.

They figured it close to $7,500.00 with all the inflation recently in the US system.

Amen, my friend. Correction though, they are exactly one half ounce, unlike older 22K $10 gold commems which are like .48 oz.
Two Jackson Liberty Unc.'s sold in Original Mint packaging for about $1100 yesterday on ebay which is just about the only place to get them these days.

The Jackson Unc is the only one of the non-spouses that I don't have. Seem very hard to get.

I have been collecting these coins and I've noticed the supply of anything after Dolly Madison, that isn't currently for sale has pretty much dried up in the last few months. Occasionally I've come across a Jackson, but the prices on these now makes me glad I jumped on one last fall when I had the chance. Van Buren, Monroe and slabbed Julia Tyler (still for sale) are very tough too.

One has to go RAW in the US Mint packaging several places to find them.

Send them in then if you need them slabbed.

I'm sure if you check on PRODUCTION you can find a sweet spot... right?

Yep, .9999 PURE gold 1/2 ounce troy.

I sure wish the US govy was more truthful.

Gold Bullion ounces at $50 and 1/2 ounces $10 written on them.

Imagine that with the Commodities Board having hearings from experts telling them that 100 ounces of paper to each REAL ounce, and they are really fractions of that!

These PUPPIES are keepers especially if slabbed - someday they'll be 3 to 5 THOUSAND bills.:yippee:.. each LOUSY SPOUSY - boy they are getting better looking all the time the GOLD BAR must be closing and it LOOKS like 2:00 a.m.

I wanna give a big "THANKS" to History Student, who, every time I find my self second guessing my purchases, re-confirms for me that it is my best interest to purchase gold and certain gold coins. Although he is in a league of his own when it comes to collections. Thanks again HS for keeping me focused and to "keep the faith". And that computer guy who keeps pushing up his glasses while he is typing cracks me up. Thanks again HS, a true inspiration!

Yeah I would like one of these coins just for that reason. I think it is good looking coin. I've been looking for one of these in a slab but goodness, they are selling between $900 - $1150 now. If that looks pointless as we get closer to the cutoff date, I'll probably just buy one from the mint. Julia, unlike a lot of the spouses so far, is actually easy on the eyes too. I think the real gem on these coins that is often overlooked however are the designs on the reverse. I find them all interesting.

Why glorify the wives of the presidents? Do people really care about Caroline McIntosh, the second wife of Millard Filmore? Get real. This is an exercise in political correctness.

What's next, extolling an Indian squaw on the Lewis and Clark expedition (instead of Lewis and Clark)? If someone had told Meriwether Lewis that Sacagawea would be on the obverse of the dollar, he would have committed suicide years earlier.

If guilt-laden liberals want to honor a female Indian, they should honor Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha. Fat chance, though, since the woman extols virtue and sanctity.

You are really on point therein.

May I humbly add that the other reason is a smokescreen to show there are producing something because some 25 coins in precious metals they are "SUPPOSED" to make :signs14: (but it's the truth) - THEY AIN'T probably because they do not have the PHYSICAL :aetsch::36_1_37::dontknow:whatever they want ot make up for the cause.

Also these are such LOW DEMAND that really is a PURR-FECT Cheshire FAT do-nothing Cat excuse.

Also since the early days of mankind they have worshiped a mother goddess -especially ROME did - and two guesses who's following the ROMAN power pax romana DISEASE?

After making my purchase, for a friend of mine who couldn't sign on at the time, I looked to see who was currenly online here at the boards. I then proceeded to send a couple of private messages to the two users who posted in this thread that were online at the time while the Van Buren proof was still showing available. You guys need to check your inbox ;).
